Mosquito Eradication in Kebayoran Lama Utara Intensified

Mosquito nest eradication (PSN) is intensively conducted in Kebayoran Lama Utara Urban Village area, especially in the Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery (TPU) area.

We dispatch around 114 cadres of Jumantik (wiggler hunter) to monitor mosquito larvae

Kebayoran Lama Utara Urban Village Head Atmah said massive and routine PSN was held to prevent the growth of mosquito larvae.

"Today, our focus is at the Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery (TPU)," she expressed, Wednesday (6/15).

She explained Tanah Kusir TPU is one of the locations that have great potential to become a breeding ground for dengue mosquito larvae in Kebayoran Lama Utara.

"There are flower vases filled with water in every grave. We routinely dispose of the water in it to kill thousands of mosquito larvae," she explained.

Other efforts were held in the settlements of 10 RW in Kebayoran Lama Utara every Tuesday and Thursday.

"We dispatch around 114 cadres of Jumantik (wiggler hunter) to monitor mosquito larvae in residents' homes spread over 101 RTs, it is held twice a week," she explained.

She added it is routinely held every Friday following up on the results of monitoring by Jumantik cadres.

"Various efforts to eradicate mosquito nests are currently being intensified to reduce the number of dengue fever cases," she closed.
